New way to connect to online resources

University of Rochester users of Sibley's website will now be able to connect to remote resources, such as Oxford Music Online (i.e. New Grove) or e-journals, from home without needing to log in to VPN. Thanks to help from the River Campus Libraries, anyone with a valid UR NetID will be able to access these electronic resources from anywhere just by clicking on the link. If you are trying to access a restricted-access resource from somewhere other than the UR network (that is, from on campus), you will be prompted for your NetID login.

If you need a reminder of your NetID username and password, just go to the NetID homepage. When off-campus, you must access the library resources from either Sibley's website or the River Campus Libraries website to be prompted to login--do not bookmark databases and e-journals directly.

You will still need VPN to access any audio/video streaming source, such as Naxos, DRAM, or course reserves.
